Frequently asked questions about the ICFES percentile

The ICFES Saber 11 percentile shows what share of students who took the exam scored at or below you. A percentile of 80 means you scored higher than 80% of that exam session's test-takers. It differs from the global score (0–500): the percentile places you relative to the rest of the country, not on an absolute scale.

Sabero models the 2025 national score distribution as a normal curve (real national average, design standard deviation of 50) and calculates where your score falls on that curve. It's a statistical reference estimate, not the exact calculation ICFES runs against the real cohort from your specific exam session.

The ICFES Saber 11 national average for Calendar A was around 258 points out of 500 in the most recent session reported by ICFES. That number shifts slightly each cycle; check the exact year in this page's widget before comparing yourself to it.

There's no single official cutoff for a 'good score'. As a reference: below 250 is under the national average, 250-279 is near the average, 280-349 is above it, and 350+ puts you in the range for competitive scholarships and the country's most selective universities.
