ICFES Saber 11 score calculator and universities within reach

The global score comes from an official formula (ICFES Resolution 268 of 2020): your five areas are averaged with weight 3 for Critical Reading, Mathematics, Social Studies & Citizenship and Natural Sciences, and weight 1 for English; that average is multiplied by 5. That is why the result runs from 0 to 500, and why English moves the needle far less than the other four.

It depends what for. The national average sits at 258 out of 500, so above that you are already past half the country. Scholarship programmes such as Ser Pilo Paga and Generación E have used a reference threshold around 350, and high-demand programmes like Medicine have cuts above 400 at several public universities.

There is no official equivalence table. ICFES changed the Saber 11 structure in the second half of 2014: the old exam reported more areas separately plus a national rank, and since then it reports five areas from 0 to 100 plus a global score from 0 to 500. If you have per-area scores from the old exam, entering them in this calculator gives you the closest available reference, but it is not an official conversion and universities do not accept it as one.
