Admission FAQ

UIS assigns a percentage weight to each ICFES Saber 11 area (Critical Reading, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Studies, English) depending on your target program. Your weighted score is the sum of (area_score × area_weight / 100), yielding a result between 0 and 100. To be valid, you must score at least 31 points in each individual area.

If any of your 5 area scores is below 31, your weighted total is invalidated regardless of the calculated sum. The 31-point minimum per area is an eliminatory requirement that applies to all UIS programs.

Cut scores vary every semester based on applicant demand and available spots. Historical data shows a general upward trend since 2015. For the current enrollment process, always check the official call at inscripciones.uis.edu.co.

Yes. In addition to its main campus in Bucaramanga, UIS has a presence in Málaga, Barbosa, Socorro, Barrancabermeja, and Bogotá. Some programs at regional campuses may have different cut scores. Check the official portal for details.
