About UNAL Bogotá
The Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá Campus) is the most selective public university in the country. Admission uses a proprietary entrance exam (Saber-UNAL), scaled roughly 500–900 points and weighted per program. The ICFES Saber 11 is a mandatory prerequisite: only proof of completion is required, no minimum score. Spots are assigned from highest to lowest exam score; competitive programs like Medicine or Systems Engineering require scores above 650 on the UNAL scale.

Admission FAQ
The ICFES Saber 11 is a mandatory prerequisite to sit the UNAL entrance exam, but it does not directly determine admission. What counts is your result on the proprietary UNAL exam (scale ~500–900). You only need to present proof of ICFES completion when applying.
In 2025, the Medicine cut score at UNAL Bogotá was 713–718 on the proprietary exam scale (500–900). It is one of the most competitive programs; the cut varies each semester based on demand and applicant performance.
There is no minimum ICFES score for UNAL: the Saber 11 exam is only a prerequisite to apply, with no cut score of its own. What decides admission is your result on the UNAL entrance exam (500–900 scale), and that cut varies a lot by program: in the 2025 term it ranged from ~560 points for Business Administration to over 713 for Medicine. There's no single number that applies to "getting into the Nacional": it depends on the program.
We don't yet have the specific historical cut score for Nursing in our reference table (see the verified programs above). Generally, Nursing is not among UNAL Bogotá's most competitive programs (it tends to fall below the Medicine cut), but the exact number shifts every semester depending on how many applicants register. Check the most recent result on UNAL's official admissions portal before making a decision.
Each program's cut is recalculated every semester based on that cohort's applicant performance: it isn't a fixed year-over-year number. The scores on this page are the most recent reference we have verified (2025); use them as a guide to how competitive a program is, but confirm the exact current-cycle cut on admisiones.unal.edu.co before deciding which program to apply to.
Not for regular admission. Resolution 19 of 2026 (Academic Vice-Rectory) removes the proprietary exam only for three special-admission tracks: PEAMA and PAET (for the national-presence campuses: Amazonía, Caribe, Orinoquía, and Tumaco, evaluated using Saber 11 results from 2020 onward) and PTIUN (national scope). If you apply through the regular process to Bogotá, Medellín, Manizales, or Palmira, the Saber-UNAL exam is still mandatory.
