Admission process

The Universidad de Antioquia is the most important public university in Antioquia and one of the largest in Colombia. Admission uses a proprietary exam scored 0–100; the ICFES Saber 11 is a required prerequisite, not the ranking criterion. The minimum score to participate in the UdeA exam (Medellín campus) is 53/100; highly competitive programs like Medicine or Systems Engineering require 79–89/100 on the proprietary exam.

Admission FAQ

How does the UdeA admission process work?
UdeA administers its own entrance exam (0–100 scale) to all applicants. With your ICFES Saber 11 on record and the application form submitted on time, you sit the exam. Spots for each program are assigned strictly from highest to lowest score on that exam.
How difficult is it to get into Medicine at UdeA?
Medicine at UdeA is the most competitive program at the university: in 2025-1 the cut was 85–89/100 on the proprietary exam. Only a small fraction of applicants who pass the minimum threshold (53/100) reach that level.
